Strawberries Celia from Celia

6 large scoops vanilla ice cream
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) cold butter (divided)
1/4 cup sugar
3 pints of strawberries, hulled and quartered
1/2 fresh orange, juiced
1/2 fresh lemon, juiced
1/4 cup Grand Marnier
1/4 cup Pimm's Cup (available at larger liquor stores)

Divide scoops of ice cream between serving bowls and place in freezer until ready to use.

Place a large saute pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of the butter. When butter melts, add sugar and stir with a spoon. When the two are well mixed, add the strawberries and the juice of the orange and lemon. Simmer briefly, 2 to 3 minutes or until berries are just tender. Remove from heat and add Grand Marnier and Pimm's Cup. (see note). Allow the heat from the pan to evaporate the alcohol.

Return to stovetop. When the liquid in the pan returns to a simmer, add remaining butter and remove from heat, stirring to incorporate butter. Spoon berries and liquid over the ice cream. Makes 6 servings.

Note: If pan is left over heat, the dessert will probably catch on fire. If desired, dessert can be flamed.
